Nusa Dua is hands-down the easiest part of Bali to take young kids to. Calm beaches, walled-off resort enclaves, no scooters whizzing past your toddler, and a tight cluster of large luxury resorts that's built for families. For most of the families we book, the kids pool is the single biggest factor in picking between properties. Below are three resorts we send clients to and consistently get good feedback on.
Grand Hyatt
I've long maintained that Grand Hyatt is the resort for families in Nusa Dua. The pool setup here is in a league of its own - five interconnected pools and two waterslides set across beachfront gardens: one for both adults & kids, another for toddler. The headliner for kids is the Garden River Pool: a winding river-shaped pool with grassy banks, shallow toddler ends, and a 50-meter waterslide snaking down a grassy hill into the water. The caveat - the property is showing its age, but you're trading polish for sheer scale and the best pools / waterslides set up in Nusa Dua.
Their kids club Oceania, is open for ages 4-12 plus a separate Toddler Club for under-4s, 9 AM-6 PM, with first 2 hours free everyday. There's a long list of activities including pizza making, mini workshops, scavenger hunts, bunny feeding, and Balinese dance, plus a games room and plenty of toys to keep them blasting through the day.
Conrad Bali
Newly renovated in 2020, with four pools to play with. The 35m main pool is open until 9pm daily for everyone, but the family favourite is the 278m lagoon pool that winds through the gardens like a tropical river. Surrounding some areas of the pool is an unique sand area where your kids can build sand castles. They also have the lagoon access rooms which let you swim out into the main pool from the terrace.
The Kura Kura Kids' Club caters to ages 4to 12 from 9am to 5pm, with a packed daily program of both complimentary and paid activities, plus Balinese cultural elements. The best part is it's completely complimentary - you can leave your kids there all day without any extra costs.

Sofitel
Another fun haven for families with a French twist. The main lagoon pool stretches over 70 meters with daybeds wrapping the edge, and the dedicated kids pool sits right beside it with slides, ground-level fountain jets, splash spurts. The layout is great: you can lounge on the surrounding daybeds within eyesight of the kids without chasing them halfway across the resort.
The Kids Villa is next to the main pool, so kids can switch between the playground and the kids' pool in minutes. It welcomes ages 0 to 12 daily from 9am to 6pm, with two complimentary hours per child and a packed activity list: cooking classes, canvas painting, jewellery making, kids' yoga, and face painting. They also offer daycare services so you can leave smaller kids in the kids club without you needing to be there.
